Differential Controller KIT

The Differential Controller or differential thermostat KIT contains everything needed to build a rugged solar controller for a solar collector. It may be small but don't be fooled. Believe it or not the relay on this controller can handle pump loads in excess of 500 Watts... AND although the controller consumes less than 1 Watt of energy per hour it can regulate the flow of water through an array of more than 30 collectors at once. A simple adjustment of the differential pot is all that's required to maximize a solar heat harvest. Bigger is better when it comes to the surface area of collectors, but it's not necessarily better when it comes to the size of the differential controller.

This Basic Differential Controller is easy to build from a schematic and even easier to build with a KIT and set of instructions. The quarter is not part of the KIT and you'll have to supply your own solder, but I'll throw in a set of thermistors, 4 mounting screws and 4 standoffs and mounting block.

To power an AC pump you will need a 9VDC Wall transformer (actual voltage 12Volts to 14Volts)
